"Seinfeld" Reference book very well researched.

Very comprehensive. Exactly what I was looking for. I wish it had been published in a normal size, though. It's too cumbersome to take on trips to doctor's offices, restaurants, etc. I know; I've tried it. But the author did an excellent research job, unlike the authors of books on other sitcoms. I've only found a couple of minor errors.

He is also the author of many Cengage/Course Technology books, including Security+ Guide to Network Security Fundamentals; CWNA Guide to Wireless LANs, 3e; CWSP Guide to Wireless Security; Guide to Wireless Communications; and Networking BASICS. Good resource to add to any information security awareness program

Security awareness is a vital part of information security. Just how important is it? In September, the 10-day SANS Security Awareness Summit 2014 will cover every aspect of the topic.

For those that want to get an appreciation for the topic but can’t make it to Dallas for the Summit, Security Awareness: Applying Practical Security in Your World is a good resource for the reader that wants both an understanding of the theoretical awareness issues, and how to practically address them.

Author Mark Ciampa is a computer science professor Western Kentucky University with an expansive background on the topic.

The book has an awareness focus for Windows users. The reader is expected to be somewhat technical, and relatively comfortable with using Windows tools.

For those looking for a mid-level reference on the topic, a book that’s not too basic, and also not so broad, Security Awareness: Applying Practical Security in Your World is a good resource to add to any information security awareness program.

I traded this in to Amazon because it helped me pass my CSI class with flying colors so, I didn't need it anymore. But if your going into the computer sciences, I definitely recommend. With technology expanding so rapidly, we tend to forget that we need to protect the information that we share. I love that there are tons of scenarios in this book that relate to today.

This is not a book, and certainly NOT an "Ultimate Guide" to OneNote.

It is simply a short, text-only essay on the principal features of the software.

No diagrams, screen shots or other visual aids. An amazingly lame effort, obviously slapped together to quickly generate cash. More amazing are the plethora of positive reviews of this largely worthless "effort".

Do not waste your money.

Disappointed considering what the title and description say

I was expecting an 'Ultimate' guide detailing all the various nuances of One Note. This is a very general, high level review of One Note's capabilities. Only 85 pages of large text. Last 10+ pages are mostly key stroke shortcuts. Disappointed considering what the title and description say. Looking for another book now.

About the Author
Kathy Alba, a native of Los Angeles, received her B.A. summa cum laude in English (with minors in psychology and French) from Oregon State University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English and linguistics from the University of North Carolina.

One of Kathy’s main professional focuses is her teaching, having been an award-winning adjunct professor of English in several colleges and universities across Kansas for some seventeen years. She speaks with authority but always with passion and the belief that only humor can make learning into an adventure rather than a pain in the neck, that if you’re laughing, you’ll probably be relaxed enough to understand and take in new, even complex ideas. In response to the needs of her students and people in the larger community, she has written this off-the-wall book on "empowered" English and another on study skills. As director of Bear Hollow Educational Systems—a nationwide seminar series designed for corporations, college campuses, and city groups—she speaks with compassion and uses the book to inspire, nurture, and help people move closer to their personal fulfillment.

Her other primary focus is writing. Concertos in D Major, a relationship novel about a lovely violinist on the wild north coast of Oregon, may be ordered from Amazon.com or bookstores now. She currently resides at ivy-covered Bear Hollow in Wichita, Kansas with her husband, several beloved dogs and uncountable stuffed bears. Her son is a medical student and classical violinist.

If I could, I would give the book 2.5 stars. The author does a good job on trying to keep the reader entertained with the examples she uses, however, at times I feel she overdoes it. The book could be better organized. She jumps from one topic to next uncontrollably, at times, leaving the reader hanging. For a book on English, I'm surprised by her lengthy sentences and paragraph structure. Her paragraphs often focus on multiple topics. It's also hard to keep up with her train of thoughts. Sometimes I wonder if she was on a caffeine high when she was writing it. She just overdoes it. For example, it's cute the first couple times she says repeat "I saw him, I saw him, I saw him." After a couple chapters, these quirks get to be a little annoying. (My students' would have received a failing grade had their paragraphs and sections lacked this much focus.)

Her pictures of teddy bears on every page are just a complete waste of space. I can tell the author is a sweet, gentle and nice lady, but her book is written for a less educated audience. I was very disappointed after receiving the book. I thought it would be a book about learning to talk with power, confidence and prestige, but Kathy only uses examples that you should already have learned in elementary school. For example, I had eaten, I went versus I had gone. It's a waste to purchase it if you know basic English. She also brings up German grammar and compares it to English, which is completely irrelevant. She's demonstrating her knowledge of other languages, not helping you to improve your English.

This is a grade school text book. It is neat to see what was emphasized over 100 years ago. The notes to teachers, such as suggesting a Civil War veteran speak to the class, are pretty cool, too.

Matthew Knott has been writing code for as long as he can remember; from marveling at moving pixels on a BBC Micro to writing ridiculous text adventures for his Mother on an overheating ZX Spectrum 48k. Matthew has been a professional software developer for the last 12 years, the last 6 of which have been spent in the education sector where he has now entered the sometimes-scary world of management, although when they see the mess he made of the budget that won’t last long. Matthew’s work and hobby is basically the same thing, but when he’s not working, he is loving life in a beautiful part of Wales with his Wife Lisa, and two kids Mikey and Charlotte.

The best book on learning xcode around, bar none!

Let me begin by saying that I have zero coding experience with xcode. I had been making many a false start with the very basics of even knowing where to begin let alone how I would ever remember anything I would learn from what I could find on YouTube or random websites .I often have a hard time motivating myself to start learning and find myself easily discouraged when I get myself in a bind with nowhere to turn. Then one day I decided to search amazon.com on my Ipad mini for all of the eBooks related to xcode for a beginner like me. I came across many but when I would read the sample pages, I would be lost within the first few pages. Then I found "Beginning Xcode" by Matthew Knott. I read all of the sample pages in one sitting and as soon as payday arrived, I immediately ordered the book and had it shipped asap. For me personally, I do much better with a hard copy then an eBook as I tend to make a lot of notes. Once it arrived, I started devouring it, page by page until I realized I had just spent a few hours in one sitting. I couldn't get enough. The book is written in a way that's easy to understand no matter how little programming experience you have. Its also great for experienced developers as it doesn't talk down to you or make you feel as if you reading below your level of understanding. I am a little more than halfway through it and I worry that I wont find another book as well written as this to continue on my learning path. This should be mandatory reading for anyone who has the desire to learn xcode but doesn't know how or where to begin. I would give it 10 stars if I could!!
BTW..I have recently spent the money to become an IOS apple developer. Not that I expect to have an app in the app store anytime soon, but just as a way to get my hands on extra learning material and pre release betas. I would have never had the confidence had it not been for this book.

A Sci-Fi Thriller With The Once And Future Brigadier

Having read The Forgotten Son, the first novel in Candy Jar Books series of novels based on the long-running Doctor Who character of Lethbridge-Stewart, the second novel in the series had me just as intrigued. Written by David A McIntee (the author of such excellent Wilderness Era novels such as The Dark Path and The Face Of The Enemy) and titled The Schizoid Earth, it promised to be an exciting entry in the series. Thankfully, it didn't disappoint.

In the earlier novel The Face Of The Enemy, McIntee showed he clearly knew how to write a solid Who based thriller without the Doctor. More than fifteen years later, he's continuing in that vein with great success. If you've read the title, seen the cover art, and know your Classic Who it's likely you have some idea of what this is about. Whatever you may think going in, you're in for more than one surprise along the way. The Schizoid Earth is a roller-coaster ride of a plot that combines Doctor Who style Earthbound science fiction with a thriller elements straight out of the 1960s. There's echoes not just of Classic Who but of many of ITVs great spy series of the time, something that McIntee clearly has a knack for it and it shines through in this volume.

Which to a certain extent is also the biggest issue with this novel. The novel starts off with two different plot strands that seem to contradict each other outright, something that also makes for confusing reading at times as the novel swaps back and forth between them at regular intervals. To its credit, the novel does eventually tie the two together, doing so in a way that is most unexpected and immensely satisfying. For much of its length though, it makes for an times confusing read even for someone familiar with the elements and characters being used.

Back to the positives though. The Face Of The Enemy also showed that McIntee had a fine grasp on who Lethbridge-Stewart was as a character as well, something else that works to the novel's advantage. The once and future Brigadier comes across very well here as both action hero and a man trying to figure out the situation he's found himself in. The novel also makes a rather interesting and unexpected tie-in back to elements from the earlier novel in the series which adds a wonderful layer to the character and how he deals with it here as part of the novel's unfolding plot. It's something that, like in Forgotten Son, gives the novel an added layer of authenticity.

While it does have the minor issue of a plot that's perhaps a tad more complex than it needs to be, on the whole The Schizoid Earth is a fine read. McIntee turns in a fine Who based thriller that both harkens back to the era in which its set while also exploring ideas and concepts more modern. It's a fast paced tale and one that makes for a wonderful addition to this new series. If they are as good as this and Forgotten Son, one suspects it'll have a healthy run as well.

Five reads, rapid! McIntee's SCHIZOID EARTH should thrill WHO, alt-world SF fans equally

Rarely do spinoffs of beloved franchises succeed as thoroughly as the new LETHBRIDGE-STEWART series of novels from Candy Jar Books has done. Andy Frankham-Allen's gripping debut tale, THE FORGOTTEN SON, lays the groundwork for the series, which centers on DOCTOR WHO's beloved, heroic, Earth-based defender, Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, and opens a short period of time after his introduction to the classic British science fiction series in the chilling Second-Doctor classic tale "The Web of Fear." In David McIntee's meaty puzzler of a second volume, THE SCHIZOID EARTH, avid fans of WHO (especially the alt-world Third Doctor adventure "Inferno") and fans of QUATERMASS-style British science fiction in general will find an even deeper, richer landscape of wonders. McIntee's novel perplexes from the off -- in a good way -- as it seems alien vessels are dropping from the sky and the future Brigadier (here still just a stalwart Colonel) is stymied at every turn in his investigation by forces rallied against him. In fact, his own mind may be turning traitor -- or why else does are whole swatches of his memory gone, and why do the people around him -- supposed friends and colleagues -- seem to be manipulating him to some nefarious end? The mystery at the heart of this story is fresh, compelling and jaw-droppingly great -- a perfect jumping-on point if you missed FORGOTTEN SON (but you should grab that one too) and a smart, exciting addition to the lore surrounding one of DOCTOR WHO's most beloved classic characters. Do yourself a favor, WHO/SF readers, and pick this one up.

A Life-saver for the new Lethbridge-Stewart series

The Schizoid Earth is a life-saver for this series of Lethbridge-Stewart novels. After the disappointment of the first book I almost gave up on the series (seriously considered asking Candy Jar Books for a refund) but thankfully I persevered. In all honesty The Schizoid Earth does take a bit of getting into and untangling, but it is definitely worth the while in doing so, as the pay-off is massive (especially for dedicated Who fans like myself). Hopefully the first book was just a bad blip on the radar and the series will now carry on to bigger and better things and deliver all of the greatness it promised. I for one will be buying the next novel, my only concern being that it is by a different author once more and so the risk is that rather than follow on from the brilliance of the Schizoid Earth, it will regress back to the teenage nonsense and wooden, clich�d prose of the first book. My final words are: more please.... more from David A Mcintee (a known and trusted chronicler of official Who lore).

3 sides to every story. Easy read. You can feel the author's frustration. I'd recommend for an Eminem fan. I think there's certainly truth in this. It's not great writing, but certainly readable. It tells this story pretty well though.
