I really liked this book! Great encouragement if you truly want to follow God with your life.

Opposition? Criticism? "I Dare You" challenges you to press on to the high calling Jesus has for your life. "The whole purpose of this book is to encourage you to use your life for God's glory and to make a difference in your world." Miss Morganthal shows how being faithful in small things not only strengthens and encourages your faith but ultimately allows God to equip you for big things even if it is in ways you do not expect or necessarily start out to want. However, do you want His will or your own? Miss Morganthal provides 8 "I Dare You" chapters out of 14 to encourage you to seek God's glory for your life to follow Him fully. She encourages you to ignore the naysayers (and there will be many) and focus on doing God's will regardless of the opposition or seeming impossibility of it. I would like to put this book into the hands of every young/new believer! There are some mature subjects briefly touched on in case you have younger than 13 (or so) such as forced prostitution, human trafficking and abortion but not in detail.

Encouraging and uplifting!

First I would like to say that I feel badly for not getting this review written sooner! This book was amazing, and impacted me a lot more than I expected. It took me a bit of time to read through, but that is ONLY because I don't read nonfiction nearly as quickly as fiction (I don't know why. It's just a 'me' thing...), and doesn't reflect my thoughts on the book at all, because I really did love it and enjoy it.
And I can guarantee that because I finished it. :D (I confess I leave a lot of nonfiction unfinished unless I super like it).
I'll start off by saying that I know the author, Isabella Morganthal, and she is an amazing, Godly person - so passionate in her beliefs and convictions. I knew her passion would come through in her writing and indeed it has.
So yes, the book!
"I Dare You" is an inspiring, uplifting, and challenging book. One daring us to change our world by living on fire for Christ. Amen! It's full of godly insight, tips for Bible memorization (and I know that she is the queen of Scripture memorization!! :)), and SO much more. The short stories she includes are very touching as well and equaling challenging. This book will really make you think!
The author, has a passion that burns bright, and it vividly shows through this book. I applaud her passion and her Dare to her readers. She writes with such care, and I know you will take something away with you from this book. I highly encourage you to read it!

LOVE THIS BOOK!! It's powerfully thought provoking! Using unique humor, sharing her own experiences and relatable stories, Isabella Morganthal dares readers to make a difference. She challenges them not to waste their lives, but instead to use them to change this world for Jesus Christ. What a powerful testimony Isabella has! Young people especially will love reading through this book, and no doubt will have a fire ignited in their souls to discover their passion and do something about it. Readers will feel like they are out having coffee with their best friend, chatting about real life issues. You won't want to put this book down! Good job, Isabella, on a BEAUTIFULLY written book!! Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!!!

Incredibly Dangerous Misinformation

This book claims that Sunday observance of the Sabbath is the mark of the beast, and that the Roman Catholic Church is the beast. He says the mark on the forehead is in our minds, and that the mark on our hands is in our actions. Quoting from the book, "Contrary to current prophetic speculation, only God will see this mark, not humans." (Kindle loc. 297 89%) The author quotes Revelation and Daniel frequently, but if you read Revelation 14:16-17, ("16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name." Zonderman NIV Study Bible). Not having the mark of the beast will prevent Christians from buying and selling-period. NOT just on the Sabbath. It is pretty obvious that humans CAN either see or detect the mark with some sort of scanner(like the ones at the check-out counters in all the stores now?)otherwise, how would they know not to sell to someone? Sorry, but I don't think too many merchants can see my thoughts. Don't be deceived by this book-there WILL be some sort of tattoo, brand, computer chip or who-knows-what that you will have to submit to receiving in order to buy anything. You will have to present this mark to merchants. I don't know what the mark of the beast will be, which is why I purchased this book. But I do know that without it, the lives of Christians are going to be very difficult during the tribulation. More importantly, I also know that all who do receive it will be damned for eternity.

Not what I thought it was.

I think the cover of the book misleads one as to what the author really thinks about the subject.
I also think that the author stretches a point in order to make it fit the theories of his own beliefs.
The word which is translated "in" in the KJV of Revelation 13:16 is the Greek word "epi" and this word is translated by a number of different words in the New Testament, words such as - on, onto, around, against, about, at, long, in, before, and many others.
The majority of times however, it is translated as "on" and in this particular reference in Revelation 13:16 nearly all, if not all other Bible translations translate it "on" including the NKJV of the Bible. I feel that the authors theory hinges too much on the translation of this one word, which makes it a very weak argument.
Overall, I felt that I had been somewhat mislead by the title and the picture on the cover of the book. For me it did not really de-code the mark of the beast at all. Rather disappointed.
I think the author took the opportunity to push his own denominational beliefs.

About the Author
Mary Jo Bowie is the owner of Health Information Professional Services in Binghamton, New York which provides medical record consultative services for various health facilities for over 25 years. She served as an instructor in the Health Information Technology Program at Broome Community College for over fifteen years, teaching such courses as Inpatient Coding, Ambulatory Care Coding, Quality Assurance, Survey of Healthcare and Computers in Healthcare. Ms. Bowie is now the Health Information Management and Medical Coding program director at Mount Wachusett Community College and an associate professor. She develops all course content within the curriculum to include ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS courses, CPT/HCPCS courses, Introduction and Advanced Health Data courses to name a few. Ms. Bowie is a registered Health Information Administrator and an accredited Health Information Technician. She is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and is also an AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS approved Train the Trainer. She served on the New York State Health Information Association Board of Directors from 1989 to 1991 and was education director and on the Ambulatory Coding Guideline Committee. Mary Jo Bowie was the New York State nominee for the National Award for Literacy Contribution to Profession, 1993 and 1994. She is a National and Regional speaker on ICD-9-CM, CPT and ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, as well as a course writer for Cengage Learning. Ms. Bowie holds an Associate of Arts Degree, a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree. She has conducted over 50 national training seminars on ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.

Regina Schaffer is a Reimbursement Educator Specialist for United Health Services in Johnson City, New York. She works with approximately 45 providers educating them on both ICD-9 and CPT coding. Ms. Schaffer also works as a consultant in Binghamton, New York and is an instructor in the Health Information Technology Program at Broome Community College. Ms. Schaffer is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), past secretary for the local AAPC Chapter from 2000 to 2002 and is a frequently requested speaker on ICD-9-CM and CPT Coding. Ms. Schaffer co-authored UNDERSTANDING ICD-9-CM and UNDERSTANDING PROCEDURAL CODING with Ms. Mary Jo Bowie. She is an accredited Health Information Technician, a Certified Professional Coder and holds a Bachelor of Science degree.

Great idea

Having the ability to have my text book on my I-pad is great. I take my I-pad with me everywhere I go. If I have a few spare minutes at the office or waiting for an appointment, I can spend the time doing some reading. I wish all textbooks were available on my I-pad.

Serves as a great foundation platform for teaching important thinking

Joel knocked it out of the park on this one!

As a clinician (LSW) who works with ASD youth, one of the greatest challenges is helping them conceptualize that it's not all about them, their wants, needs, interests and desires. There is a peculiarity within their brains that it seems just doesn't connect like us so-called typically developed humans. They need a bridge to see that bigger piece. This book has three things that work well: 1 - Its really attractive/compelling, the pictures are a HIT. 2 - The teaching is graphical and simple, they get it w/o a lot of talk talk talk-ing. 3 - And its conceived in a manner that they just GET, it goes with the way these kids process and think.

Joel knows his stuff. I use this book over and over. In fact (no lie) they say to me, "Oh, did you bring The Green Zone book today!!!?" Now that says everything when working with this population!

---- also I highly recommend Joel's book "Our Brains Are Like Computers!" I use it all the time.
Well worth the money and both are well made books!!!

This book was a hit with 8-yr old

This book was a hit with my 8-yr old nephew. It is very well organized, particularly the coordination between the recommended activities and worksheets as they relate to each chapter of the book. My nephew was really engaged in the activities as well as our reading of the book together, and the worksheets helped expand his perspective of conversation and finding mutual interests. This is an excellent book and it really gave my nephew many "ah ha!" moments.

great resource for teaching some conversation skills

great book with awesome visuals to explain how to find a common topic with a conversational partner. The book is very well done and has several parts to it - could be used over and over to teach students these conversational skills - I just wish it came with a digital version as well so I could display it on the computer projector.
