Cooking delights!

What an intriguing story, I didn't figure it out until close to the end.
Bess applies to be Lord Taryn Wentworth's cook, but they aren't strangers to each other. She was hoping to be able to reconnect with him and holy double entendre's batman loved that scene when he was interviewing her. She provides a delightful breakfast the next day, not only for him but for his butler and footman, who incidentally get to share some of those delights. That table was used for more than eating, a cooks job is never done until she has seen to their pleasure. Wentworth comes to the rescue her to restore her heritage, when she was badly treated by her greedy relatives.

Truly enjoyed their happy ending, I'm a sucker for lines like when she says that the hope of seeing him again kept her alive!

I enjoyed reading about Lord Taryn Wentworth & Bess Deveraux, the butler named Gaylord & the footman named James. Lord Wentworth has just taken over this household, and he dismissed the entire staff and is replacing them all starting with the cook. The house manager Mrs. O'Brien has just interviewed the women named Bess Devoraux who has recently been employed with Baron Charles Mowbray for five years and two months, and he has given rave references. Mrs. O'Brien does not seem impressed with Bess's manors because she keeps trying to call The Lord just Wentworth, and that's just not tolerated, but The Lord doesn't seem to mind, in fact he dismisses her and tells her to leave for Dorset right away, she just says's you know I don't want to go, but you must. When she leaves Wentworth asks Bess what she can cook, anything, beef, fish, sweets and I specialize in large parties and balls. Lord Wentworth decides to give her a chance. Read this story because it will make you laugh, cry and cum up a storm. This story will make you very wet, enjoy reading it!

Bess Deveraux has had a difficult life, and been in hiding for several years. Lord Taryn Wentworth, an admitted rogue and debauched newly minted Earl is hiring new staff. When Bess arrives to apply for a position in the household, the sparks and sexual tension is off the chains!

A clever twist on a revenge story, Bess and Wentworth were lovers before she disappeared. Her sexual appetites match his and her responses to his dominant approach and delight in her favors is readily apparent and well presented. De Land mixes the intrigue of the revenge story with delightful and deliciously decadent sexual encounters, a touch of domination and voyeurism as well as several encounters with more than one partner. This is a quick and steamy read that has something for every fan of the genre.

The graphic novel made me see the humor I missed when reading the book.

Enjoyable Graphic Novel

This is the second graphic novel adapatation of this story I've read (and know of 2 other), in addition to the paranormal/parodies) and definitely one of the better. The artwork is clean and easy to follow and the story a decent adapt from the novel.

As with any graphic novel from a literary source, you will lose quite a bit in the intricacies of the story. A very good artist gains it back with expressions and settings for the artwork. Here, I do still feel a lot was lost, hence the 4 rather than 5 star review. A lot of the art is just posing - really lacking body expression and facial emotion. The drawing is also very simplistic - no elaborate hairstyles and the fashions of the day are just simple empire gowns without texture or patterns. It felt a bit anachronistic as a result and I missed the Regency period feel.

But in all, it's a good adaptation, if a bit sterile.

Brian Long lives in Japan and is "an avid collector of 35mm equipment." This book, published in 2007, is packed with photos of 35mm cameras from the Tourist Multiple and early Leicas to rangefinder reintroductions by Nikon and Zeiss Ikon in 2005. Besides photos of cameras, there are many photos of advertisements over the years. A short glossary is in the back.

Long's purpose is to introduce anyone interested in collecting 35mm cameras to their history. He explains how to examine a camera for condition, discusses possible repair issues that cameras of a particular era might have, and offers advise on what to consider if you're buying an old camera not only to display but to use. He gives short histories of the makers of popular brands during each decade, and mentions landmark cameras of each era. This is not an exhaustive look at 35mm cameras and does not cover every model of even a single brand, but it's an excellent, informative overview of this type of film camera.

Not only a thrilling story of "what could happen here" in the fight against terrorism, but also a history lesson of Ancient England and the Knights of the Templar beautifully woven into the plot. metaphorically and actually.The torture scenes were grisly to the point where my body actually felt some pain;; okay I'm exaggerating but not by much.
