About the Author
Vicki L. Plano Clark is an Assistant Professor in Educational Studies in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati. She teaches research methods courses, including foundations of research, qualitative research, and mixed methods research. Prior to joining the University of Cincinnati, she spent 19 years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where she first focused on physics education as Laboratory Manager in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and then switched to a focus on research methodology, utimately serving as the Director of the Office of Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research in the Department of Educational Psychology. Dr. Plano Clark has authored and co-authored over 40 articles, chapters, and books.
John W. Creswell is a Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He held the Clifton Institute Endowed Professor Chair for five years, and for the last five years he has served as a co-director at the Office of Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research. He has held positions as Senior Fulbright Scholar (South Africa, 2008, and Thailand, 2012), as a consultant in the health services research area for the Veterans Administration, as Visiting Professor at Harvard’s School of Public Health, and as Adjunct Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan, among others. In addition to his teaching, he has authored numerous articles and books on mixed methods research, qualitative methodology, and general research design, and was the founding Co-Editor for the Journal of Mixed Methods Research. In 2014, Dr. Creswell will be awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE GOING TO PURCHASE: INSTRUCTIONS ON ACCESS CARD ARE INCORRECT

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY THIS! This listing comes with an access code for the ebook, and a loose-leaf copy of the book. I was very interested in having an e-book because of the search feature. Anyways, when I followed the instructions provided on the access card (also provided on the ebook listing on Pearson's store website), one of the first things it asks you to do is select the book. The problem was, this book was not listed. I finally got around to contacting technical assistance tonight. They gave me a different registration URL, which worked! I was about to return it... Some other reviews mention that the book cannot be found on the registration website, so they must not have investigated it any further. I will save you the trouble- in order to register and access this ebook, you must go to [...]. The access card instructions state to go to [...]this does NOT work.

Let me save you your valuable time and money. This book could be summarized by a tweet: In order to understand research, read the research.
I cannot express how pointless this pile of paper is. I am in awe that authors were able to turn such simple information into hundreds of pages. I am annoyed that I had to spend money on this book for class, and I am LIVID about the time I spent reading it, desperately hoping to come across some golden insight that would make it all worth it.
